MUFEM (national women’s museum) was founded in 1994 by Annette Mbaye d’Erneville and the Consortium de Communications Audiovisuelles en Afrique. Originally based on Gorée Island, the museum is now located in Dakar at the Place du Souvenir Africain. Its permanent collection and temporary exhibitions present the lives and voices of Senegalese women in rural and urban settings. For more information, click here.
